Industry sources said Friday that Discovery Networks U.S. executive vice
president Bill McGowan was close to signing a new multiyear contract that would
expand his duties, including responsibilities for global integrated
partnerships.
At press time, a spokeswoman said Discovery was expected to make an
announcement Monday.
In recent weeks, several cable-industry sources have spread word that McGowan
would soon depart from Discovery. McGowan dismissed those rumors as 'complete
and utter garbage.'
