Discovery’s ‘Man Vs. Wild’ Premiere Draws Strong Ratings

Discovery Channel Tuesday said the season premiere of Man Vs. Wild attracted an average of 1.4 million viewers during its debut Friday night.

The ‘Zambia’ episode, which featured host Bear Grylls facing 12-foot waves and some of the world’s biggest rapids, was the top-rated, non-sports program among men between 18 and 34 years of age Friday night.

On Friday, May 9 at 9 p.m. ET, Grylls heads to one of the hottest and driest place on Earth: the Namibian Desert. Future episodes will take viewers to Indonesia and Siberia.
