Discovery HD Theater will enable viewers to relive the Civil War’s first
major battle and visit a lost world in South America as part of 45 new hours in
August.
Heading the premiere programming is Manassas: End of Innocence Aug. 4,
a docudrama detailing the battle that erupted in Virginia-area residents’ front
yards and exploded the romantic war notions of naïve soldiers.
The following night, Discovery HD will unveil Journey to a Lost World,
where viewers will espy the Guinea Highland of South America -- home to giant
sinkholes atop mountain peaks.
Also on tap is the third and final episode of the Wild Night series
developed specifically for HD, with A Night in the Jungle premiering Aug.
18; new HD episodes of Trading Spaces, A Wedding Story and A
Makeover Story; the second installment of monthly theatrical trailers under
the "Hollywood Spotlight" banner; and Discovery HD Theater’s "Screening Room," a
sneak peek of upcoming shows on the all-HD network.
