Discovery Communications will consolidate video-on-demand, DVD and archival tape content using clustered-storage technology from provider Isilon Systems.
The technology enables storage and distribution via broadcast, VOD and Internet.
“The nature of our workflow necessitates storage that can not only scale capacity and performance quickly and without any network interruption, but is also easy to manage,” Discovery vice president of engineering Tony Cole said in a prepared statement. “Isilon IQ delivered on all fronts.”
