DirecTV’s Carey Saw $13.4 Million Comp Last Year

DirecTV Group CEO Chase Carey last year received $13.9 million in compensation, a boost of 12% more than his $12.5 million package the prior year, the company said in a securities filing Monday.

Carey’s compensation in 2007 included a salary of $2.21 million and a bonus of $4.2 million, according to the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Under Carey’s helm last year, DirecTV significantly increased its HDTV lineup, saw subscriber gains that outpaced Wall Street’s forecasts and experienced less churn.
