DirecTV Latin America said that if it can't reach new deals with its
programmers, suppliers and lenders, it may be forced to file for bankruptcy
protection.
The company, which is backed by Hughes Electronics Corp. and Cisneros Group
of Cos., has been hammered by the devaluation of currencies in Latin
America.
