Interactive-TV player ACTV Inc. is no longer a public company -- it was
acquired by OpenTV Corp. in July. But that didn’t stop it from being ranked
11th on Deloitte & Touche LLP’s "New York Technology Fast 50"
list of the fastest growing companies in the city.
Although ACTV’s revenue and earnings have plummeted in the past year
(first-quarter revenue dropped to $2.3 million from $3.2 million a year
earlier), Deloitte ranked companies based on revenue growth during the past five
years, and ACTV’s revenue jumped 703% during that period.
Other cable players on the list were Mediacom Communications Corp., ranked
No. 13, with 614% in revenue growth, and Insight Communications Co. Inc.,
14th, with 603% revenue growth.
