Motorola Broadband Communications Sector will use Altera Corp.’s "Cyclone" field-programmable gate arrays in its DSR500 family of high-definition satellite receivers, the companies announced Monday.
The Altera Cyclone FPGA bridges advanced decoder and processor circuits and manages bandwidth from front-end satellite tuners and demodulators.
The Motorola DSR500 supports a wide array of home-entertainment options including HD-capable TVs and monitors, standard television sets, VCRs and home-theater systems.
