Customers Take Center Stage In New Verizon Spots

Verizon Communications' video and Internet customers will be the stars of its latest TV ads, themed "This is FiOS. This is big."

The spots, created by McCann Erickson New York, are the second wave of a campaign which began with ads featuring action-adventure director Michael Bay.

This series of commercials will feature subscribers such as Steve Bagley of Teaneck, NJ, commenting on how "sharp, crisp and clear" his TV picture is. Internet customer Joe Andrews of Maplewood, NJ describes the fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) service "like having a freight train of data coming into your home."

"No one speaks to the power of our network more eloquently than our FiOS customers," said John Wimsatt, Verizon senior price president, product marketing. "When they talk about the unbelievable clarity of their FiOS TV picture quality or the super-fast speed of their FiOS Internet, your see the excitement in their eyes and hear it in their voices," he said in a prepared statement.

The ad also excerpts positive reviews from such media as Computerworld, CNET and PC Magazine.

The telecommunications company said a third segment of the campaign will feature a "superstar professional athlete" later this year.
