CTAM Live: Canoe Puts Paddle In Summit Waters

Do you Canoe? No, not the men’s cologne from Dana.

But you can learn more about Canoe Ventures LLC, the advanced-advertising venture set up by Comcast and the five other largest cable operators, at next week’s CTAM Summit ‘08 in Boston.

Vicki Lins, who this week relinquished her duties as Comcast Spotlight's senior vice president of marketing and communications to become full-time CMO of Canoe, will offer an insider’s briefing about the venture’s direction on Monday Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.

Conference attendees can also hear from the man himself, Canoe Ventures CEO David Verklin, the following day. Verklin is scheduled to appear on CEO panel discussion and luncheon on Nov. 11 between 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The New York-based advanced service’s first application dubbed “creative versioning” is said to be moving toward a muli-operator launch in the first quarter 2009. The application will use existing cable zones and overlay demographic information for each area to allow an advertiser to place different advertising spots in each zone.
