Core Networks Inc. said it is releasing "CoreEnsemble," a home-networking-management software solution.
The software is designed to provide monitoring and management over CableHome residential gateways and network devices in home and small-office local-area-network locations. Tools include firewall security and parental controls.
In other data news, Alpha Technologies Inc. said it will use Tollgrade Communications Inc. Internet-protocol-based Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification status-monitoring equipment for its power supplies.
Alpha plans to deploy a Tollgrade-embedded DOCSIS transponder in its "XM2" and "Lectro by Alpha" power supplies.
