Concurrent Computer Corp. announced Monday that Bright House Networks'
Indianapolis division is using its "MediaHawk 3000" video servers to deliver
video-on-demand to more than 50,000 digital subscribers.
"We're delighted to be an integral part of Bright House's VOD service in
Indianapolis," said Steve Necessary, president of Concurrent's XSTREME VOD
division, in a release.
Bright House is the new name for the Time Warner Cable systems that are now
controlled by Advance/Newhouse Communications in Florida; Birmingham, Ala.;
Indianapolis; Detroit; and Bakersfield, Calif.
"The Indiana market is excited to have cutting-edge technology delivered to
their homes through our system," Bright House Indianapolis vice president of
engineering Mike Sellers said in a release.
"We worked closely with Concurrent's technical-support staff to prepare our
system for launching VOD, which went smoothly thanks to great teamwork," he
added.
Sellers continued, "The experience Concurrent provided in the deployment of
VOD systems was a tremendous benefit to all of us in the division. We're happy
to be using Concurrent's VOD solution."
The operator's Indianapolis division controls 116,000 basic
subscribers.
