On Command Betting on BettingCorp

On Command Corp. and OpenTV Corp. subsidiary BettingCorp want to make sure hotel guests are playing games.

The two parties signed a multiyear deal Wednesday under which BettingCorp will develop interactive games for On Command, a provider of in-room entertainment technology to the lodging and cruise-ship industries.

On Command said it will kick off the new “iGames” product to all of its Internet-enabled hotels with an initial selection of 15 BettingCorp games, as well as games from other providers.

Categories will include casino and skill games, including “Word & Trivia,” “Children's,” “Classics & Arcade” and “Puzzle Games.”

“BettingCorp's server-based gaming solution is ideal for games services such as On Command's," OpenTV chairman and CEO Jim Chiddix said in a prepared statement.

“Not only is it a robust, flexible solution that allows rapid game updates across the entire room base, but its state-of-the-art back-office functionality allows detailed analysis of all gaming activity and also allows us to constantly adjust the service to reflect customer needs,” he added.
