Comcast’s Alchin, Smith Named ‘CFO of Year’

John Alchin and Lawrence Smith, co-chief financial officers at Comcast Corp., will receive the "CFO of the Year" award at the Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association and Broadcast Cable Credit Association annual conference in May.

Alchin -- whose other titles at Comcast are executive vice president and treasurer -- manages the company's capital-formation activities, including equity and debt placements in domestic and international markets. He’s also responsible for investor relations and the treasury cash-management functions.

Smith, also an executive VP, has responsibility for accounting, taxation and merger-and-acquisition activities.

In addition to discussing experiences sharing the CFO position, they’ll speak about insights and experiences gained from growing Comcast into the country’s largest cable-system operator, achieved through its assimilation of the former AT&T Broadband and other cable companies.

The conference will be held May 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.
