Comcast Business Tailors X1 for Hospitality Market
By Jeff Baumgartner published
Comcast Business has launched X1 for Hospitality, a program that tailors its next-gen video platform for hotels.
Comcast, which has already adapted the cloud-powered X1 platform for its Xfinity on Campus product, said an early adopter of the new program is the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center. The hospitality-focused version of X1 will be offered in each of the hotel’s 219 guest rooms when it opens this winter, the company said.

Among its features, the offering for hotels will support the X1 user interface and voice remote (with support for English and Spanish), about 300 channel options and a VOD library of more than 50,000 TV shows and movies. It will also support a two-tuner DVR and X1’s accessibility features.
Comcast announced the new product at The Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference, happening this week in Houston.
