Comcast Accounting Chief to Retire

Long-time Comcast senior vice president and chief accounting officer Lawrence Salva has informed the company of his intention to retire from that position, effective Feb. 28. Comcast has named VP and corporate controller Daniel Murdock to take his place on March 1.

Salva has been with Comcast for 17 years. He will remain as a senior advisor to the company’s chief financial officer through June 30, 2018.

Murdock, 43, has served as VP and corporate controller since 2015. He joined Comcast from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he had served as the deputy chief accountant in the Office of the Chief Accountant from October 2013 until May 2015.  Prior to the SEC, he was Deloitte & Touche’s Audit/Industry Professional Practice director for media and entertainment.
