Cine Nostalgia Launches on DirecTV Ms

Tapping into the growing interest of Hispanic audiences to watch Spanish-language cinema, DirecTV Más has launched Cine Nostalgia, a 24-hour Mexican cinema network offering customers some of Mexico’s golden era movies.

Cine Nostalgia, available on DirecTV Más channel 424, offers classic films and documentaries depicting life in Mexico during the 20th century.

The network, which schedules 45 different films every week including five new releases in primetime, is the only Spanish-language movie channel offered by the satellite operator. Its schedule, which includes tribute to prominent Mexican actors such as María Felix, Cantinflas and Pedro Infante, offers 12 daily programming blocks in different genres, such as drama, comedy and action.

The network said it has a video library of more than 1,200 Spanish-language movie titles.

“Cine Nostalgia is aimed at a the next future generation of viewers that have heard so much about the golden age of Mexican film, but have not had chance to experience it,” said Casrlos Vasallo, CEO of Cine Nostalgia in a statement.

The movie channel joins a lineup of over 45 Spanish-language channels on DirecTV Más.
