Virgin Media Friday announced the appointment of three new directors, including former Time Warner Cable and OpenTV technology honcho James Chiddix and Steven Simmons, CEO of Simmons/Patriot Media & Communications.
Rounding out the newly appointed trio of directors is Andrew Cole, the chief marketing officer and senior vice president at Asurion, a leading handset insurance company.
Virgin Media is the U.K.’s largest cable operator.
“Individually and collectively, James, Andrew and Steven bring to our board a wealth of experience in the entertainment and communications industries,” Jim Mooney, Virgin Media’s chairman, said in a statement. “Their strategic insight will help Virgin Media capitalize on its unique assets and put its technology at the heart of a differentiated consumer offering.”
All the three will serve as independent, non-executive directors to the Virgin Media board.
