Charter Taps Cox's McElroy

Charter Communications Inc. has tapped Charles "Chuck" McElroy as senior vice
president of its Southeast division.

In this capacity, McElroy, most recently president of Cox Business Services,
will have responsibility for all Charter operations serving 2 million customers
in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and
Tennessee.

McElroy joined Cox in 1994 from SBC Communications Inc., where he had served
in various operations, strategic-planning, marketing and financial-performance
positions since 1978.

"When we announced our streamlining of operations into five geographically
clustered divisions, I knew it was critical to recruit leaders who could
reorganize our existing talent into efficient teams that would rally around our
common goal of providing the best products and services at a great value,"
Charter president and CEO Carl Vogel said in a prepared statement.

"Chuck's experience as a manager of both large employee groups and a start-up
business within an established company shows us that he will be that type of
leader who will contribute to the re-energizing of Charter," Vogel
added.
