Charter CTO Rolls Sets Departure

Charter Communications has confirmed that its chief technology officer, Jay Rolls, will leave the company later this spring for personal reasons.

“Obviously, we are very appreciative to Jay for his many contributions and years of service to the company. We wish him all the best, and are working with him on transition,” Charter said in a statement.

Rolls already had 25 years of cable technology experience when he joined Charter from Cox Communications in 2011.

Rolls currently serves on the board of directors for The Cable Center.

Charter has not commented on who might replace Rolls, who reported to Jim Blackley, executive VP of engineering and information technology for Charter.
