Charter Communications Inc. will deploy Motorola Broadband Communications Sector’s "Broadband Services Router 64000," the two companies announced Wednesday.
The cable-modem-termination system and router will initially be used to roll out voice-over-Internet-protocol telephony and high-speed-data, the MSO said.
"The Motorola BSR 64000 platform was selected for its robust carrier-class features, including redundancy, [Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification] 2.0 support, PacketCable support, advanced routing capabilities and overall performance," Charter senior vice president of engineering and technical operations Wayne Davis said in a release.
