Charlotte Field, an engineering exec late of Comcast and AT&T, has joined Charter Communications as senior vice president-application platform operations, the company confirmed.
Field, who joined Charter last month, will remain based in the Denver area, where the MSO has opened a new engineering facility, and report to Scott Weber, Charter’s EVP of network operations. In her new role, Field is responsible for all service deliver applications and the operations side of the MSO’s video platforms.
Field is coming on board as Charter prepares to roll out its cloud-based Spectrum Guide and hybrid QAM/IP "Worldbox" that uses use a downloadable security platform.
Field most recently was SVP, infrastructure & operations, National Engineering & Technical Operations, at Comcast. In 2011, the highly respected engineering exec was recognized by Multichannel Newsas a top woman in her field. She joined the cable industry in 2000, when she helped to establish a network-operations center for AT&T Broadband (now part of Comcast).
