Cartoon Starts `Toonami' Tour

Cartoon Network's 'Toonami' Mobile Game Unit has just started a promotion
tour of about 100 cities, with affiliates due to tie in on the marketing and
ad-sales fronts.

Turner Network Sales said Monday that the kickoff market was Seattle, where
AT&T Broadband was the affiliate partner Saturday, Nov. 3.

Turner is supplying affiliates with extensive support materials for its
popular afternoon Japanese action/adventure animation block, including taggable
cross-channel spots, customizable posters, ad slicks and premiums, TNS senior
vice president of marketing Coleman Breland said.

The traveling Toonami Mobile Game Unit will feature game stations, display
monitors and 'Core Quest,' a video game made exclusively for Cartoon.

The Toonami block includes Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and
Gundam Wing, which are top-rated among boys aged 12 through 17 in the
Nielsen Media Research ratings, Cartoon said.
