Cartoon’s Kuechenmeister: That’s All, Folks
Karl Kuechenmeister, Cartoon Network’s senior vice president of sales and
marketing, is retiring after a 30-year career in television advertising,
officials said Monday.
Kuechenmeister, who has spent the past seven years in his current post with
Turner Broadcasting Sales Inc., will leave his job Friday.
Before joining Turner in 1996, Kuechenmeister was senior VP of One World
Entertainment, a division of MTV Networks.
His resume also includes stints in not only cable, but broadcast and
syndication, at CBS, NBC, Telepictures and Warner Bros. Television Distribution.
He started his career as a sales-development analyst at the CBS Television
Network.
"My work on behalf of Cartoon Network has been among the most challenging,
rewarding and enjoyable of my career," Kuechenmeister said in a prepared
statement. "I look forward to spending more time with my family and working on
new projects and seeking new endeavors."
Turner hasn’t named a replacement for Kuechenmeister yet.
