Canoe Hires Schaffer As Head Of Finance

Canoe Ventures named Neil Schaffer, formerly CEO of a marketing and finance consulting firm, as senior vice president of finance.

Schaffer is in charge of finance, administration, accounting and reporting for the New York-based advanced TV advertising company, which is owned by the six largest U.S. cable operators -- Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Cablevision Systems and Bright House Networks. He reports to Canoe CEO David Verklin.

Most recently, Schaffer was CEO of Longview Consulting Group, an advisory firm he founded in 2005 that works with emerging and middle-market companies on marketing and financing strategy. He also served as chief financial officer of Audio Audit, a digital watermarking service provider to media companies, and CFO of Mediaport, a technology consortium sponsored by the three global advertising holding companies, Omnicom, Interpublic and WPP Group.

Schaffer also has worked for iPrivacy, a software development company focused on Internet privacy protection for the financial services sector, The Carson Group, a financial information and consulting company; and Price Waterhouse.
