Cablevision Plays Sesame Street Games on iO

Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch are now playing in the iO: Interactive Optimum neighborhood as part of a new Cablevision Systems Corp. interactive-game offering.

Cablevision and TV technology provider NDS Group plc have partnered to launch “Sesame Street Games” on Cablevision's iO digital-cable service.

Developed along with Sesame Workshop, the interactive games are aimed at children 2-5 and feature the popular Sesame Street Muppet characters and actors. The games emphasize learning shapes, colors, numbers, letters and other basic skills.

"Children can learn and interact with the Sesame Street characters without the need for a computer or separate gaming device,” said Jeffrey Fleishman, assistant vice president of business development for Sesame Workshop’s interactive-media unit. “We think children and their parents will really embrace this interactive capability as a great new learning tool."
