Cablevision Names Rutledge N.Y. President

Cablevision Systems Corp. Thursday named former Time Warner Cable executive
Tom Rutledge president, New York metropolitan area.

In this position, Rutledge is responsible for overseeing the company's core
consumer telecommunications products and operations including cable, high-speed
Internet, digital and Internet-protocol-telephony offerings.

Rutledge -- who begins his new job Jan. 7, reporting to president and CEO
James Dolan -- will direct the MSO's cable-TV offerings, its 'iO Interactive
Optimum' digital package, its 'Optimum Online' high-speed Internet service and
the development of its IP-telephony initiatives.

He will also coordinate Cablevision's sales, marketing, field and
customer-service operations.

Rutledge's appointment to the position -- held previously by Joe Azznara, who
was moved to Cablevision's wired and wireless telephony unit before retiring
this past fall -- comes several months after he was replaced as Time Warner
Cable president in October by former Comcast Corp. president Tom Baxter.

'Tom joins Cablevision at a crucial time. With the recent launch of iO, the
success of Optimum Online and new services and products on the horizon, Tom's
experience in broadband operations and the integration of services will play a
key role in our developing digital strategy,' Dolan said in a prepared
statement.

'Tom has an excellent track record, and I am confident that his leadership
skills will play a major role in ensuring that Cablevision continues to offer
superior products, backed by excellent service,' he added.
