Cable Show 2009: Starz Adding Movies, Originals On Demand

Starz Entertainment said it has added more movies and original programming to multichannel video affiliates through its subscription video on demand offerings.

Starz On Demand is remaining at 100 titles, but Starz HD On Demand is up to 45 (a gain of 31), Encore On Demand is up to 150 (a gain of 65), MoviePlex On Demand is at 100 titles now and MoviePlex HD On Demand is at 10 titles. Encore HD On Demand is remaining at 15.

Ed Huguez, executive vice president of sales and affiliate marketing at Starz Entertainment, said in a release that 20% of all VOD usage comes from Starz SVOD services where they are fully deployed. "According to Rentrak data from the second half of last year, this is more usage than that from all other premium SVOD services combined."
