C-COR.net Corp. said it reached a deal with Tandberg Television to sell Tandberg's "EdgeMax 5500" quadrature-amplitude-modulation device to cable operators intent on deploying video-on-demand.
C-COR plans to twin the EdgeMax with its "GigE Max" optical-transport module and "CHP Max 5000" headend platform.
The EdgeMax combines Internet protocol/Moving Picture Expert Group statistical multiplexing, QAM modulation and UHF conversion for up to 24 QAM channels in a single-rack unit.
