Brooklyn, Bronx Get RNN

Regional News Network announced Tuesday that it has secured additional coverage in the tristate area through an agreement with Cablevision Systems Corp. that adds RNN to the MSO's systems in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and the Bronx.

The agreement expands RNN's reach by 750,000 households, increasing its coverage total to approximately 4 million households in the New York metropolitan area.

"We are delighted to reach this accord with Cablevision that will bring our news and information to homes in the Bronx and Brooklyn, and we intend to add additional newscasts to focus on these boroughs," RNN chairman Dick French said in a release.

RNN operates studios in Manhattan; Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, N.Y.; Washington, D.C.; and at its broadcasting base in Kingston, N.Y., where the station is licensed as WRNN-TV.

The station produces newscasts for the tristate area, as well as a nightly, three-hour news/talk show, RNN Live.
