Bravo announced a new public-affairs program Tuesday that will bring theater
education to 20 markets this year.
The cable network will lead a tour of Broadway teaching artists who will
conduct one- and two-day workshops with local children.
Broadway stars Audra McDonald and Lea Thompson have endorsed the campaign and
have produced public-service announcements for the initiative.
Bravo will post information about its new 'Bravo on with the Show' tour at
its Web site.
To help promote interest in the theater, the network also plans to tape in
November an event called 'Broadway's Best,' which will bring together top pop
recording artists to sing Broadway show tunes. The event will air on Bravo early
next year.
