Borrelli Lands Gig at AOL

Former Marcus Cable chief operating officer Louis A. Borrelli Jr., a
well-known figure in cable marketing circles, is turning his attention to
getting America Online Inc.'s high-speed service distributed over cable.

AOL Time Warner Inc. said Tuesday that it hired Borrelli as senior vice
president of AOL Broadband. He reports to Audrey Weil, who heads up AOL's
broadband initiatives. Borrelli will oversee the rollout of the high-speed 'AOL
Plus' service on Time Warner Cable -- also owned by AOL Time Warner -- and work
on distribution deals with other MSOs.

Borrelli left Marcus in November 1998, about seven months after the privately
owned MSO's owners sold out to Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures. Vulcan bought
Charter Communications Inc. a few months after the Marcus deal, and Charter's
management team ended up on top after the two operations merged.

Before Marcus, Borrelli was a marketing executive at UA-Columbia Cablevision,
which later became United Artists Cablesystems Corp.

A member of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing, he
co-chaired the CTAM Summit in 1999.

Last year, Borrelli and other investors bought out I-Soft Inc., a Web-design
firm that owned and operated a golf-related electronic-commerce site. Borrelli
became the Dallas-based I-Soft chairman and CEO. The news release on Borrelli's
hiring at AOL did not mention I-Soft.
