Bishop Eyes Boost in Board Women

Media executive-search firm Bishop Partners will launch an effort to place
more women -- women in cable included -- on the boards of Fortune 500
companies.

The new venture out of the New York-based agency will partner with other
organizations advocating the advancement of women in industry to scope out
corporate board openings and recruit candidates to occupy them.

At the moment, women hold 12.4 percent of all Fortune 500 company board
seats, according to research firm Catalyst Inc.

'This is a logical progression for our firm, based on the number of CEO/COO
[chief operating officer] and top-level management positions we place in the
media industry,' Bishop CEO Susan Bishop said in a prepared
statement.
