Billserv Gets Hunting License

Billserv Inc. said it has become a 'preferred' electronic billing provider to
Time Warner Cable, essentially giving the company the green light to negotiate
deals with the MSO's individual cable systems. Specific terms of the agreement
were not disclosed.

Billserv -- which now has the big break it was looking for in the cable
sphere -- said the hunting license gives it the potential to process more than
12.7 million monthly customer bills.

However, Time Warner currently uses a variety of billing providers. They
include Convergys Corp., DST Innovis Inc. and CSG Systems Inc., MSO spokesman
Mike Luftman said.

Billserv said its billing model enables cable customers to view and pay bills
via the Web. The company has partnerships with a cache of major billing
consolidators such as CheckFree Corp., Bank of America Corp., Spectrum,
MasterCard RPPS, PAYTRU$T Inc., Cyber Bills and BillingZone
LLC.
