Cablevision Systems Corp.once again offered a Mike Tyson fight to subscribers on a pay-per-round basis.

The MSO planned to offer the Oct. 20 Mike Tyson-Andrew Golota fight at $9.95 per round for an event that retails at a suggested price of $49.95, Cablevision executives said.

Cablevision initially used the marketing tactic for both Tyson-Evander Holyfield fights, with mixed financial results. It profited in 1996 from the first fight, which Holyfield won in 11 rounds. The MSO didn't fare as well in 1997, when the bout lasted three rounds.

Cablevision most recently rolled out the discount offer for the June 17 Oscar De La Hoya-Shane Mosley fight, which went the full 12 rounds.
