Cable company veteran Maggie Bellville is joining the board of directors of RCH Cable, an acquisition and retention company.
RCH has 1,600 employees nationally, who are hired by multiple system operators to visit consumer homes to save those customers from disconnecting, and attempting to upsell one-product customers.
Bellville noted that competitors such as Verizon are paying door-to-door marketers substantial bounties for nabbing customers away from incumbent cable providers.
"(The cable industry) has got to step up to that same level of urgency. (Competitors) understand that sell is not a four-letter word," Bellville said.
