The Bandies Are Back

Broadband-award show 'The Bandies' will return for an encore performance this
year more closely tied to the Western Show, which is being held Nov. 27 through
30 in Anaheim, Calif.

This year's awards ceremony to honor achievement in broadband content and
interactive TV is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. at Anaheim's Sun
Theater.

Bandies sponsors said the event will be co-marketed with the convention and
bestow interactive honors in nine categories: best two-screen content or
application; best enhanced-TV content or application; best enhanced-TV
advertising; best virtual-channel content; best time-shifting (video-on-demand
or personal-video-recorder) solution; best broadband PC entertainment content;
newest new thing; advanced-media cable operator of the year; and killer app.

The 23-member steering committee includes Bandies co-founder Michael
Collette, the former ICTV Inc. executive who's now senior vice president,
worldwide marketing for OpenTV Corp.; Robert Clasen, chairman and CEO of ICTV;
Pam Euler Halling, senior vice president, Insight Communications Co. Inc.;
Coleman Breland, senior vice president, marketing and sales, Turner Broadcasting
System Inc.; Bahns Stanley, executive vice president, The Weather Channel; and
Brad Samuels, senior vice president, affiliate relations, Comedy
Central.
