Bachman Family Sets Up Scholarship Fund

The family of Scott Bachman, a former executive at Cable Television Laboratories Inc. and managing director of technology for United Pan-Europe Communications N.V., has set up a music scholarship fund for Bachman's 17-year-old son, Nathan, who was killed in a motor-scooter accident in the Netherlands on Oct. 24.

"On behalf of my family, I wish to thank many individuals for their condolences and support during these difficult weeks after our youngest son's accidental death in The Netherlands," Bachman said. "It's been difficult to individually thank everyone that sent a card, e-mail, flowers and gifts in support of our family, therefore we'd like to express our appreciation to members of the cable industry through this medium.

Bachman said the family wished "to memorialize Nathan's love for music through the establishment of the Nathan W. Bachman Music Scholarship Fund," and thanked those who already made donations. U.S. residents can make contributions via the Nathan W. Bachman Music Scholarship Fund, c/o Norma Hussey, Citizens Bank & Trust, 515 Washington St., P.O. Box 50, Chillicothe, MO, 64601.
