AT&T Corp. is seeking permission from the Federal Communications
Commission to negotiate the sale of its interests in several cable networks
inherited in last year's purchase of MediaOne Group Inc.
In a Jan. 8 letter, AT&T told the FCC it was 'preparing to dispose of its
interest' in E! Entertainment Television, Digital Cable Radio (formerly called
Music Choice), Sunshine Network, New England Cable News, In Demand L.L.C., Fox
Sports New England, Food Network and rep firm National Cable Communications.
AT&T previously obtained approval from the commission to sell its stakes
in Speedvision and Outdoor Life Network.
