AT&T Expands Wholesale VoIP Service
AT&T has expanded availability of the AT&T Voice Over IP Connect Service (AVOICS), a wholesale service for U.S. cable operators and other service providers for IP-based connectivity to the telco’s global network for long-distance call termination.
AT&T said it now offers the wholesale VoIP services to customers that want the service with T1, T3 and up to OC-48 connectivity. Initially AT&T introduced the service with limited availability as a managed service offering.
AVOICS provides unbranded and unbundled transport over the AT&T network, as well as termination of international and U.S. domestic traffic. Customers connect to the service via AT&T's Managed Internet Service/Multiprotocol Label Switching-Private Network Transport (MPLS-PNT) service. AVOICS accepts U.S.-originated domestic outbound (1+) calls and international outbound (011+) calls via Session Initiation Protocol signaling.
AT&T said it provides wholesale transport and communications services to more than 400 carriers in more than 220 countries and territories.
