AT&T Dials Up Circuit City for VoIP

AT&T Corp.’s “CallVantage” voice-over-Internet-protocol service will be available in Circuit City Stores Inc. locations Oct. 1 following a deal announced Wednesday.

The two companies will promote CallVantage through in-store marketing, print and online advertising.

“VoIP is an emerging technology, and we are excited to offer customers choices when it comes to purchasing Internet telephony," Circuit City senior vice president of merchandising Doug Moore said in a prepared statement.

AT&T senior VP for Internet telephony Cathy Martine added, “By expanding our retail distribution base into Circuit City stores and making the service more widely available, we're well-positioned for the holiday shopping season.”

CallVantage is currently available in more than 170 markets in 39 states and Washington, D.C.
