AT&T Adds Bloomberg to U-verse

AT&T now means business with its U-verse programming lineup thanks to another carriage deal inked with Bloomberg Television.

The deal, announced Wednesday, was the latest in a string of carriage deals as AT&T builds up its U-verse programming lineup. Recent additions include Discovery Networks, NFL Networks, MTV Networks and BET Networks.

"AT&T U-verse TV has content from some of today's most popular television networks in order to deliver a truly revolutionary entertainment experience centered around the consumer," said Dan York, head of programming for AT&T Operations. "AT&T is providing a robust and compelling television service that will now also include quality financial- and business-news programming from Bloomberg."

Backed by AT&T’s Project Lightspeed initiative to drill fiber-optic connections into subscriber neighborhoods, the U-verse television service is now up and in limited-market rollout in San Antonio.

AT&T plans to expand U-verse to 15-20 additional markets by the end of this year, and it is projected to reach almost 19 million households by the end of 2008.
