Arris: Downs with Government

Arris Group Inc. has some government business to attend to.

The high-speed-data and telephony-systems vendor said Monday that it has named Bruce Downs to the newly created post of vice president of government-sector sales and marketing.

Downs has been with Arris for 10 years, holding senior roles in customer service, product management, operations management, strategic project management and supply-chain management.

In his new role, he will be responsible for introducing Arris’ broadband solutions into the government sector through strategic partnering, contract expansion and direct sales.
