AMC Sets 1st `Big Bid Movie' Auction

American Movie Classics is adding a new wrinkle to its movie presentations --
a live on-air/online auction.

AMC announced Tuesday that The Natural, starring Robert Redford, will
become its first 'Live Big Bid Movie' Nov. 30, sponsored solely by American
Honda Motor Co. Inc.'s Acura.

During breaks in its primetime presentation of the baseball saga, the network
will put a batch of memorabilia up for auction.

Baseballs autographed by Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Cal Ripken Jr.
and Derek Jeter will be up for bids, as will an original news-wire photo of
Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, AMC said.

AMC host John Burke will be joined during the auction segments by
'knowledgeable guests,' such as memorabilia expert Elyse Luray Marx, appraiser
Simeon Lipman from Fine Sports Auctions and some as-yet-unannounced sports
personalities.

Consumers can now view a complete catalog of auction offerings on the Amctv.com Web site.
