Ambit Renames Itself Ubee Interactive
Ambit Broadband, a supplier of cable modems and other broadband customer premises equipment, has renamed the company Ubee Interactive.
The new name, according to the company, was developed using surveys from customers and employees. "Ubee" is meant to suggest the company as open, unconventional, and "dedicated to improving the broadband experience for consumers and service providers."
"We're small enough to be responsive and flexible, but large enough to support the world's largest broadband service providers," Maria Popo, president of Ubee's Americas division, said in a statement.
Ubee's products are used by seven of the eight largest cable operators in the U.S. The company, founded in 1991, is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, with U.S. operations in Englewood, Colo.
As part of the rebranding, the company launched a new Web site, at www.ubeeinteractive.com.
