Concurrent Computer Corp. said it promoted Fred Allegrezza to chief
technology officer of its XSTREME video-on-demand unit.
In his new role, Allegrezza will oversee the development and introduction of
advanced VOD-streaming technologies and interactive-television and
targeted-advertising applications. It's also expected that he will play a key
role in Concurrent's development of a headend-based personal-video-recording
system for network operators.
Allegrezza, who most recently was vice president of new business development
at XSTREME, reports to company president and CEO Jack Bryant.
Allegrezza also founded Vivid Technologies, a VOD company Concurrent acquired
in October 1999. Before that, he was the engineering program manager and
systems-engineering manager at General Instrument Corp. (now part of Motorola
Broadband Communications Sector).
