Alcatel has promoted Mike Quigley to president and chief operating officer.
He succeeds Philippe Germond, who announced his resignation.
Quigley has been with Alcatel since 1971, and he most recently held the post of president of Alcatel North America.
He reports to Alcatel chairman and CEO Serge Tchuruk.
