A&E Television Networks announced Tuesday that it has acquired Genealogy.com LLC, a leading
Internet destination for Americans looking to find their roots.
Genealogy.com offers a variety of products and services related to genealogy
research, including its software application, 'Family Tree Maker,' and such
online subscription products as World Family Tree and GenealogyLibrary.com.
AETN president Nickolas Davatzes said in a prepared statement, 'Genealogy.com
provides an opportunity for us to capitalize on the growing market for
genealogy-related products by integrating its software and online tools with our
A&E [Network], Biography and The History Channel brands.'
AETN's various Web sites attract more than 1 million unique visitors per
average month, the company added.
