To mark the 10th anniversary of the Power Rangers series, ABC, ABC
Family and Toys 'R' Us Inc. have joined forces on the 'Red Ranger Sweepstakes,'
running Oct. 6 through 19.
One customer at each Toys 'R' Us retail store will have the chance to win a
life-size replica of the Red Ranger.
In addition, the toy chain will distribute 1 million free Power Rangers:
Wild Force helmet masks with red 'reveal' lenses that will enable kids to
decode 3-D messages on in-store displays and on ABC Family's Power Rangers
The latter will offer hidden first glimpses of the Power Rangers' next
incarnation, Ninja Storm.
Those messages will air during the special Power Rangers episode,
entitled 'Forever Red,' on ABC Family Oct. 12, one week after it bows on the ABC
Television Network's 'ABC Kids' block.
In other Power Rangers promo news, Bandai America Inc. and the toy
retailer will offer a five-inch Power Rangers: Wild Force action figure
as a gift to customers buying $19.99 worth of that Bandai toy line and having a
coupon from the Toys 'R' Us Oct. 27 newspaper circular.
The retailer will also stock popular Power Rangers Halloween costumes
in October, which it will call 'Red Ranger Month.'
