ABC Family to Debut Boys' Blocks

Pasadena, Calif. -- Embattled ABC Family will look to buttress its brand by
building a daily morning boys' action block from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

On Saturday mornings, ABC Family will run half-hour episodes from the
Spiderman, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Iron Man
series.

The network also announced at the Television Critics Association's winter
press tour here that it will air 'Power Rangers Theater' -- a showcase for the
action-adventure series' first five seasons -- Sunday mornings at that time.

During weekday mornings, ABC Family will present back-to-back episodes of
Digimon: Digital Monsters at 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and Power Rangers
Time Force
at 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

The network's kids' block begins March 2.

ABC Family is awaiting a U.S. District Court judge's ruling, slated for Jan.
17, as to whether it will receive a permanent injunction barring EchoStar
Communications Corp. from dropping the network from the direct-broadcast
satellite provider's Dish Network.

The former Fox Family Channel is also expected to begin layoffs, impacting as
many as 300 workers, over the next few weeks.
